Loan Periods and Fees
WPL Library of Things Lending Agreement Items in the Library of Things may be borrowed for up to three weeks with up to two renewals - dependent on the item, availability, and current wait period. The Worcester Public Library does not charge overdue fees; however, patrons are responsible for lost or damaged materials. Costs differ for each item, and they can be found at mywpl.org/?q=article/library-things.

Eligibility to Borrow a Thing:
● Must be 18 or over to sign this agreement to borrow a Thing or have signed consent from a parent or guardian if under the age of 18 for applicable Things.
● Must have a valid CWMARS Library card in good standing (i.e., the library account is not blocked by unpaid fees of $10.00 or more and/or lost materials that have not expired).

By borrowing a Thing, I agree:
● To accept full responsibility for the Thing while it is checked out to me or my child, age 17 or under, for applicable Things.
● To read all instruction manuals and guides included with the borrowed Thing.
● To avoid tampering with the borrowed Thing and its accessories or loading digital books or apps onto the Kindles.
● To inform library staff regarding any issues with the Thing (broken pieces, dead batteries, cosmetic damage, lost items, etc…).
● To accept full financial liability and responsibility for the Thing and its accessories while in my possession and agree to pay all costs associated with any damage to, loss of, or theft of the Thing and its accessories while it is checked out to me.
● To return the item to the service desk at the same library location from which it was borrowed.
● To return it by the due date that is assigned at checkout.
● To pay the full replacement cost of the bike lock if I lose or damage the key, as the key cannot be duplicated.
● If I do not have a CWMARS card and cannot obtain one, I agree to leave my ID with the Welcome Desk staff if I use a bike lock while using the library - this arrangement is only valid for bike locks.
● I understand that Wi-Fi hotspots do not allow for international roaming.

I acknowledge that the Worcester Public Library is not responsible or liable for any accidents, property damage, or injury (including death) that may occur from using any Thing. Failure to comply with the rules and guidelines will result in losing my borrowing privileges.

Períodos de Préstamo y Tarifas
Los artículos en la “Biblioteca de Articulos” pueden ser prestados por hasta tres semanas con hasta dos renovaciones, dependiendo del Artículo, disponibilidad y período de espera actual. La Biblioteca Pública de Worcester no cobra tarifas por retraso; sin embargo, los usuarios son responsables por materiales perdidos o dañados. Los costos varían según el Artículo, y pueden encontrarse en mywpl.org/?q=article/library-things.

Elegibilidad para Pedir Prestado un Articulo:
• Debe tener 18 años o más para firmar este acuerdo para pedir prestado un Artículo o tener el consentimiento f irmado de un padre o tutor si es menor de 18 años para los Artículos aplicables.
• Debe tener una tarjeta válida de la biblioteca CWMARS en buen estado (es decir, la cuenta de la biblioteca no está bloqueada por cargos no pagados de $10.00 o más y/o por materiales perdidos que no hayan expirado).

Al pedir prestado un Articulo, yo acepto:
• Aceptar total responsabilidad por el Artículo mientras esté prestado a mí o a mi hijo/a, de 17 años o menos, para los Artículos aplicables.
• Leer todos los manuales de instrucciones y guías incluidas con el Artículo prestado.
• Evitar manipular el Artículo prestado y sus accesorios, o cargar libros digitales o aplicaciones en los Kindle.
• Informar al personal de la biblioteca sobre cualquier problema con el Artículo (piezas rotas, baterías descargadas, daños estéticos, artículos perdidos, etc.).
• Aceptar total responsabilidad financiera por el Artículo prestado y sus accesorios mientras estén en mi posesión y comprometerme a pagar todos los costos asociados con cualquier daño, pérdida o robo de el Artículo y sus accesorios mientras esté en mi posesión.
• Devolver el Artículo al mostrador de servicio en la misma ubicación de la biblioteca donde se pidió prestado.
• Devolver el Artículo en la fecha de vencimiento que se asigna al momento del préstamo.
• Pagar el costo total de reemplazo del candado de bicicleta, si pierdo o daño la llave, ya que la llave no se puede duplicar.
• Si no tengo una tarjeta CWMARS y no puedo obtener una, acepto dejar mi identificación con el personal de la Mesa de Bienvenida si utilizo un candado de bicicleta mientras uso la biblioteca. Este acuerdo es solo válido para los candados de bicicleta.
• Entiendo que los puntos de acceso “Wi-Fi” no permiten “roaming” internacional.

Reconozco que la Biblioteca Pública de Worcester no es responsable ni está obligada por ningún accidente, daño a la propiedad o lesión (incluyendo muerte) que pudiera ocurrir como resultado del uso de cualquier Artículo. El incumplimiento de las reglas y instrucciones resultará en la pérdida de mis privilegios de préstamo.
