Board of Directors
The board of the Worcester Public Library is comprised of twelve directors appointed by the City Council. Current members of the Board are:

The Library Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 5:00 p.m. in the Green Room on the 4th floor of the Main Library, except July and August. Library Board meetings are open to the public.
Executive Director
Jason L. Homer is the Executive Director of the Worcester Public Library, leading a nationally recognized, multi-branch system serving the City of Worcester. Since his appointment in 2020, he has advanced WPL as a model for how public libraries function as civic infrastructure; expanding digital equity services, strengthening school and neighborhood partnerships, and launching large-scale literacy initiatives such as Library in Every Classroom.
Under his leadership, WPL earned the John Cotton Dana Award from the American Library Association and First Place in Library Marketing from the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. Jason was also named a "Mover & Shaker: Change Agent" by Library Journal for his innovative leadership and community-centered approach to library service.
He holds degrees from Stonehill College and Simmons University and serves on several regional and national library and cultural committees.
